The ruling party wins presidential election in Tanzania

Micro Text Sharing

The CCM won 58.46 per cent of the vote but the elections in Zanzibar that basically a self rule island that elects its own president, were annulled. Interestingly enough the USA is demanding for a recall of the election annullment in the island. Suluhu Samia from Zanzibar will be the first famale Vice-President. The opposition has not accepted yet the final results with its presidential candidate, Edward Lowassa, previously a big gun with the CCM not conceding yet the defeat. Overall the elections were very competitive and the opposition managed to unseat many incumbent ministers. Change will come to Tanzania, this for sure. Probably with the next presidential election
