HRC to hold annual full-day panel discussion on the rights of the child on the theme “The rights of the child and sustainable development”.  (See also Sustainable development)

 

HRC to consider report of the new Special Rapporteur on the sale and sexual exploitation of children, Mama Fatima Singhateh, addressing the impact of the coronavirus disease on different manifestations of sale and sexual exploitation of children, and on her predecessor’s - Maud de Boer-Buquicchio - mission to the Gambia.  (See also COVID-19 and Gambia)

 

HRC to consider report of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, Virginia Gamba, exploring challenges in ending and preventing grave violations and in strengthening the protection of children affected by armed conflict.

 

HRC to consider report of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, Najat Maalla M’jid, providing an overview of efforts to safeguard children’s freedom from violence and to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and also on the immediate and longer-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children’s protection and wellbeing.  (See also COVID-19 and Sustainable development)

HRC to hold an interactive debate on the rights of persons with disabilities focusing on article 39 of the CRPD related to participation in sport, informed by the report of the OHCHR thereon.  (See also Sport)
